  This is a nice Italian coffee shack on the hill of Union Sq plaza. It's great for the mornings while roaming the area with a coffee on hand. They sell Italian pastries and your regular beverage stock with beer/wine too!
  
  Me and my gf came for a few cups of coffee and their Italian donuts; sugar donut ball filled with a squeeze of nutella. It's pretty good but not what I thought it'd be. I expected it to be hot and fluffy with a nice melted ooze of nutella but it was the opposite.
  
  Their coffee is just ok. I think if you're in a hurry and need to start your day early in the city, this is a great place to pick up a small snack such as a croissant sandwich or donut and a cup of drip.

  2 visits. Both pretty consistent experiences.
  
  Rude/Apathetic workers.
  Decent latte.
  Stale pastries.
  SF prices.
  
  Small patio seating but you have the whole square to plop down in so go do that since the tables and over all patio dining area are not kept clean at all.
  
  Pigeons galore with hassle you more than the homeless people asking you for meth.
  
  Why come here at all? They serve beer. You can have a beer outdoors in a nice plaza along with a microwaved panini and a soggy donut.
  
  mmmmm.....sounds good huh?

  Located in Union Square is a little open bakery/coffee shop called Bancarella. I was in a rush since I had to be at a bus stop for the tour so I picked up a ham and egg sandwich. The restaurant did not have a line but the cashier in the morning was not very friendly. She had no smile and it showed that she did not want to be there. The food was okay, it wasn't awful but it wasn't the best. In addition, on the menu it said bottled water was Aquafina, I am thinking the brand Aquafina and I ask and she said its the water in the shelf which was not aquafina.

  I've passed this spot going to work around Union Square a few times now, but I finally dropped by to check it out. I'm not one for glowing reviews but your getting what you pay for, and that should be the honest truth of it. Standard prices on coffee and pastries for SF, but that is the norm in the city. The highlight of  this visit was the fact it was easy to access and the service was done with a smile - a younger cashier, who was happy enough to be there. That was enough to change my mood, and so the price difference was nothing to speak of. If you need a reason to sit down in Union Square, this place serves all your needs.

  Came in here for coffee and breakfast on the run. The croissants were so stale that they were tough to bite into. Less than ideal seeing as they were over $4 each. Coffee wasn't bad, but we ordered and paid for doubles and were given singles. One and done on this place.
